Tired of spiral journals and notebooks that are never quite my personality, I set out on a mission to create something that screams, "This is me!" I call it Project Lifebook.

I was seeking out a journal that had oompf. A little of Emeril's BAM! I wanted a place to journal my spiritual, martial, and maternal lessons. I wanted a place to document my prayers, my fears, doubts, and hopes. My dreams, my creative endeavors, my hopes. I wanted a place to list my goals, my achievements, and all of those books and movies I want to read and watch.

I wanted to combine my writing with my scrapbooking. Both of those, separately, tell a piece of a story about me. However, combined, they unlock the potential of leaving a legacy and one that will leave no doubts in the minds of my heirs as to who I am and what I stand for.

Each person is uniquely created by the hands of God, yet so often, we're forced into stereotypes and boxes and we're afraid to be who we really are. I hope the creation of a LifeBook will help you dig into your soul to discover the true you.

The possibilities of LifeBooks are as endless as our individuality. They're for moms, dads, kids, aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends, and the never ending list of people you know.

Start by making a list of who you are in this world. Mine included things like:
Daughter of the King
Wife of Phil
Mom of Zane
Friend

Then list things you love, your passions. A sampling of my list:
Writing
Reading
Studying the Bible
Praying
Helping friends
Making memories with my family and friends

After that, find a notebook, a journal, a sketchbook, or a three-ringed binder that you can customize. Find some fabric that you adore. Don't worry about cost, you won't need a whole lot of it.

Cover the notebook (instructions are linked at the bottom of this article), make some divider pages, decorate the book and there you have it! You're one of a kind LifeBook.
