Sudden Traps

Traps are easy to get into, but hard to get out of. Traps are trouble. Trouble does not last always. There is a way for things to change suddenly.

Anytime we are faced with trouble, we want it to come to an end just as fast as it began. It is easier to cry out for help when we know exactly what the situation is that we are fighting.
For instance, we know that we are battling infirmity and sickness when we receive a negative diagnosis. We know that we are having financial trouble when we have a bill that is due but have no means to pay it. Things may seem to be going well one day, but the next day you are faced with a whole new set of circumstances.

These set of circumstances could result  in fear and worry. You may be left wondering why these things happened to you. It is almost as if you are being attacked.

Isaiah 47:11 reads:
Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.

It is so easy to get caught up in situations that lead you down the wrong path. Going along with the times and thinking that you can do the things that everybody else does is a trap. You have to make choice to do the right thing.

Ecclesiastes 9:12 reads:
For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.

The good news is that the Lord will fight your battles for you. He can bring you out just as suddenly as you were overtaken.   You may be thinking that there is no way out. If you have ever seen a fish caught in a net, then you know that it can't get itself out. It would have to get removed. Fish of the sea and birds of the air are incapable of asking for help. Man, on the other hand, has dominion over the fish of the sea and birds of the air. He was made in the image of God and can ask for help by crying out to God. Ask and it shall be given to you.

If you have worshiped, prayed, praised God, studied your bible, and fasted, then know that you have done your part. It is time to turn your situation over to God. When you cry out to the Lord for help, he will answer you. Ask and you will receive.

2 Chronicles 29:36 reads:
And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done suddenly.  When you take your attention off of the situation, and place everything you have on the One that can bring you out, expect a blessing. Start thanking him in advance. Praise him for what he already done. Be thankful for what you do have.

Job 5:3 reads:
I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation. You can change your situation. Speak words of life instead of death. Life and death lie in the power of your own tongue. Let the word do the work.
