How far would you go to look beyond gorgeous? Lookout for these pitfalls while enjoying being fashionable:
Too Tight to Handle
On an episode of the hit reality show Leave it to Lamas, Shayne Lamas tried to squeeze in a pair of skinny jeans almost three sizes smaller than her size. She tossed and turned on her bed painfully tugging one leg in at a time. Does this sound familiar?
I know it does, we all want that tiny pair of jeans to fit and make us feel like those excruciating 50 minutes of cardio really paid off. Really tight trousers, however, can be detrimental to your health. Tight clothes can cause circulation problems, bladder & yeast infections, and even blood clots.
Opt for trousers in a looser fit or try jeggings for a comfy alternative.
Fall for Fashion
We all remember that Lady Gaga stumble down the airport.
The higher the heel, the better you feel? We all love 'em sexy stilettos, but higher than 3-4 inches are way too high. Not only are they hard to walk in, but they cause back and leg problems in addition to greatly harming your posture.
Rather than risk tripping down a flight of stairs, go for broader or wedge heels. You can also practice with kitten heels at home before going out. If you're heading out to that mall with shiny floors, dab some soft drink on the heels to make them sticky.
And since we spoke about Gaga; spiky shoes are just dangerous and unnecessary.
Chandeliers Down My Ears
Huge earrings, specially the dangling type that go down to your shoulders have a magical way of getting caught in everything. Besides the fact that nobody looks like Grace Kelly when they try to untangle their earrings, what happens if they get caught and you don't even notice?
The force of pulling away while jerking your head in the opposite direction can tear or injure the earlobe. Try to stick to shorter styles or keep your hair up if you are wearing longer ones. The more the details on the earrings, the bigger the chances those long earrings have of ruining your night.
Underneath it All
Undergarments are a crucial part of your look, but wardrobe malfunctions are not the only problem. The wrong bra with harsh underwire can bruise delicate tissue. Additionally, ill-fitted bras have been associated with breast cancer.
Go for a bra fitting in the lingerie store to make sure you are wearing the right size. Avoid synthetic fabrics with undergarments and always wash before you wear.
Handbags are an obsession since they come in all of these wonderful shapes, sizes, and colors, but if they are too heavy they can hurt your neck, shoulder, and back. As tempting as it is to carry the whole world in that handbag (convenience is bliss), keep it at a reasonable weight. Also, make sure you switch sides and don't keep your arm in the same position for too long.
