BellaOnline's Irish Shop

In Northern Ireland it is not unusual to hear someone say, "I'm going for my messages." Getting the messages takes you down to to the shops to get your 'bits and pieces.'

Buying Irish art and craft items is one way to send the Irish Culture message out to the world. Irish culture values artists and their work where many other western cultures have sidelined or minimized the contribution of their creative people.

Browse the inspiring art and craft that is the product of mind, hand and heart.

Books/Ebooks

Brigid, both as goddess and Christian saint, is the matron of all creative work and is considered the well of inspiration.

Films & Television

Filmmaker Ken Loach has a great love and understanding of Ireland. Two of his most recent films have been based on Irish stories and filmed in the country, which is, of course, a great boost to the rural economy!

Actor/writer Chris O'Dowd was brought up in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. His TV series "Moon Boy" was filmed locally and brought a much needed boost to the local economy, which was badly affected when the Celtic Tiger whimpered away with its tail between its legs.
