About the BellaOnline Irish Culture Editor

I was born and raised in Belfast, in the North of Ireland and graduated via Teacher´s Training College with a teaching degree.During the succeeding years, tha has been augmented with several Master´s and a double Doctorate in Education and Theology. All of which gives me the right to say: You can be well educated and still not be smart! A quick glance at the field of Education and the world of religion will sadly prove my point.

My family was a very musical family and all of us as children studied either piano or violin as well as participating in both church and community choirs. Growing up in the 50´s and 60´s meant that our musical tastes varied from Tommy Maken & The Clancy´s , the classical works of Thomas Moore and John Mc Cormack and the pop culture of the Beatles, Elvis and a guy called Engelbert Humperdink.

Today, my dream is to help people everywhere understand the Irish pysche and learn to love the beauty and charm of both the country and people who live there.

Ireland is an island of great opposites: the Industrial North can still provide awe-inspiring sights, while the ruggedness of the North West and the soft farmlands of the south can entice the visitor to return and enjoy them even more.

There is an old saying from back home: "There are only two sorts of people in the world ---those who are Irish and those who wish they were!" Whether your interest is based on family traditions or personal inquisitiveness, I invite you to come join us as we visit Ireland in all of its wild ruggedness and beauty and enjoy its culture, music and most of all the people and their myriad traditons.
