We subject our bodies to various kinds of toxins each day. From the food we eat to the household items we use, the cars we drive to lifestyle choices we make, toxins can be found and over time, cause illnesses.

Using Essential Oils To Relax In Your Tub
There are plenty of ways to detoxify and most of these do not require you to be at a cozy spa resort somewhere in Thailand (that would be awesome though). With some good old fashion home staples and your favorite essential oils, your very own bathroom can be the place to be.
A detox bath is pretty easy. First, make sure you have at least an hour to spend in the tub. Then pick the bottle that suits your preference or purpose. You can also combine oils and see what works best. Learn some aromatherapy. Lemongrass, for instance, is relaxing and blends perfectly with rose or lavender.
Fill the tub with hot water but limit to a temperature that is still comfortable to you. Add cold water if it gets too hot. A standard bath requires just a few drops of essential oils.
Healthy adults put about seven drops while four drops or less are usually enough for children, elderly, and those with health issues.
Resist the urge to overuse because essential oils, although they are from completely natural sources like lemongrass, can be potent. In fact, it is recommended to dilute it in a carrier oil or mix with a small amount of shampoo especially if you have sensitive skin.
Adding 1-2 cups of Epsom salts, another cup or two of baking soda and a tablespoon of ground ginger can make the solution more effective.
These garden and kitchen folks are inexpensive yet very efficient in flushing toxins, replenishing magnesium and softening skin. They work well with the essential oils, too, in providing a more intense detox bath.
Soak for at least half an hour then carefully get out of the tub. Epsom salts and oils can make the tub slippery and you may still be in a dreamy, relaxed mode as most natural oils like orange, lemongrass and patchouli are calming.
Set The Ambiance For Your Detox Bath
For a more enjoyable detox bath, set the ambiance. Use scented candles instead of turning on the light.
Listen to soft music. Clear your mind from any stressful thought. Doing this twice or thrice a week can work wonders to an ailing body, mind and spirit.
However, be cautious, as this is not recommended for everyone. Pregnant women, as well as those who are suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and heart ailments should get the nod of their doctors first.
