Angels don’t, it seems, reserve their visits for the great & the good alone, we can all call on them and be helped by them, we are all worthy of angelic attention. Like our spirit guides, angels do need to be invited into your life. They are not permitted to interfere with free will, unless the situation is critical and it isn’t yet your time. Once invited however they can give support and help with whatever issues you are facing. They won’t necessary snap their fingers & take your problems away- sometimes we need our challenges to grow- but they can give you the courage and strength to face life head on.
So how do you call an angel? It is enough to ask for help in your head or aloud. If you like to pray then ask in a prayer, if not, a respectful ‘Angels please help me!’ will be heard. They are not bound by time or space and can help many people simultaneously, so don’t worry that you are taking an angel away from someone else.
Angels can also be brought closer to you through the use of visualisation. Imagine the angels are coming to you and they will be there. At first you may have to take the angelic realm on trust, but if you continue to work with them they will arrange for signs to be brought to your attention. You might notice that you are passing pubs or streets with an angel in the name, see angelic pictures in shop windows, or hear songs with angels in the lyrics. Many people report seeing angel lights- twinkly coloured lights in the air, as well as a feeling of a loving presence around them.
I have a guardian angel painting by my front door which I feel sets a harmonious tone for the whole house as all energy flows past her on the way in. In addition I like to draw an angel card for daily guidance.Or how about keeping angels in mind all year round with an angelic calendar?

When I work as a healer I am sometimes aware of angelic assistance. I know that often I am just holding the space open for the healing and it is my guides and angels and the client’s guides and angels that are doing the work.
If you would like to know more about angels and healing I can recommend Doreen Virtue’s ‘Angel Medicine’. This is my favourite of her books so far, split into three parts: her illuminating experiences with the angels whilst travelling, practical ways of working with the angels backed up by case studies and an angel medicine reference section.
One chapter I found especially helpful was on working with coloured light. She recommends visualising the colour ray of the Archangel you would call on, so for example the Archangel Raphael can be called on in a healing situation by visualising emerald green light. Try using this green ray around any injury for a more speedy recovery- obviously getting the relevant medical attention too!
