Keep Your Family Safe From Phishers

I received a Facebook invite that did not go through the regular channels, as always, went to my facebook page, there was no invite, I deleted the bogus invitation. I was not surprised that there was no invitation on FB because the invitation had been sent to the wrong email address. I continue to receive reminder notices to "Friend" this person. Have I been phished? I believe so, however I do not plan to bite the hook.

How can you keep Internet phisher's from you and your family? A few precautions can save you a lot of trouble. The FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) say's "The term "phishing" – as in fishing for confidential information - refers to a scam that encompasses fraudulently obtaining and using an individual's personal or financial information." http://www.fdic.gov/consumers/consumer/alerts/phishing.html
