Curriculum Review : Time4Learning.com

Time4Learning
(http://www.time4learning.com/homeschool-curriculum.htm)

Many children, especially otherwise reluctant learners, love to use computers. My children are no exception and my children absolutely LOVED Time4learning.com. There were many things about this program that impressed me.

The first was that my children begged, I mean literally begged, to do “school on the computer”. The program was easy enough for the non-reader to navigate and provided challenging topics of study for the proficient reader. Lessons are totally customizable beyond any program I’ve ever seen before. Lessons are available in text and as a read-along. This makes the program ideal for all levels of readers.

The program is available for students Pre-K through eighth grade. Time4Learning makes lesson planning a snap and is almost no work at all. The kids are rewarded with time in the “playground” after their lessons are completed, with the parents specifying how long the lesson time is and how long the child is able to play before returning to lessons. I had proof the lessons provided were well digested as my children are repeating facts they learned during our trial period still today, months later.

On one occasion I had cause to contact customer service for a login problem. Much to my surprise, service was quick and painless. I emailed customer service about my problem and it was fixed a few hours later. There is no software to download to run Time4Learning and after an initial lengthy loading, it runs fine on dial-up software.

The cost is nomial when compared to “in a box” curriculums, at $19.95/month for one child and $14.95/month for each additional child.

If you are looking for an online curriculum at an affordable price, Time4Learning is worth a look! They offer a free trial and a 14 day money-back guarantee, so you have nothing to lose!
