I spent a year and a half home schooling my son. The scariest part of taking my child out of public school was determining the legalities of such an action. Luckily, in NC, it is easy to establish a home school. Once I had that taken care of, I had to determine what kind of curriculum I was going to use. Before I could purchase a curriculum, I had to determine where my son was academically.
I navigated my way around different home school approaches, developed a list of goals for my son, and eventually decided on a curriculum. I had to set up a place to store my school supplies, record keeping files, completed assignments and projects. I enjoyed teaching my son at home and I look forward to sharing my experience and knowledge on Bella Online. I will be doing articles that are directed at concerns parents have about homeschooling, reviewing different curriculums and teaching aids, as well as do it yourself projects(example: lapbooking, unit studies, and arts & crafts projects).
