This recipe answers the question of what to do with stew beef for an in expensive and easy to make meal.
Ingredients
- ½ cup flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper, freshly ground
- ½ tsp ground coriander
- 4 pounds stew beef
- ½ shallot, chopped
- ½ pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup brodo di carne
- 2 tsp tomato paste
- ¼ cup dry red wine
- 1 tsp oregano
Directions
- Combine the flour with the salt, pepper, and coriander in a bowl.
- Add the beef cubes and coat thoroughly with the flour.
- Place the beef in the crock-pot.
- Add shallots and mushrooms to the crock-pot.
- Combine the wine, beef broth, oregano, and tomato paste. Pour the mixture over the beef and vegetables and stir.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours.
- Serve with garlic bread, Caesar Salad, and pasta for a complete meal.
