Putting an End to Cyber Bullying

Cyber bullying is a recent epidemic that has taken the issue of bullying to an entirely different level. Now that teens are using computers more often they are using social networking sites more than ever. Cyber bullying is a form of online intimidation.

Though cyber bullying and “real world bullying” are different, there are many similarities between the two. Through a blog, a social networking site like Facebook or Twitter, or a chat room a teenager can be taunted by one person or a group of peers. This form of taunting can take various shapes like insulting jokes, threats, and photo-shopped images.

But despite this form of bullying there are things that we can do to put an end to cyber bullying.

In order to truly eradicate the devastation of cyber bullying we must first realize the negative impact it has on today’s youth. Generally, bullying is a terrible thing that interrupts the path of success for a young person. When someone is being bullied their world is turned completely upside down.

Being taunted hurts the emotions of a young person, especially if they are very sensitive. Low self-esteem, lack of confidence, and depression are all negative consequences that arise out of someone who is mercilessly being bullied. When bullying takes place over a computer screen, a place where a teen is supposed to have privacy and solitude, it can be even more devastating for a young person to experience this kind of taunting.

This is part of the reason why cyber bullying should be stopped.

Another reason why cyber bullying should be stopped is because if you’ve ever participated in cyber bullying it’s important to realize that you are hurting someone else's feelings. Bullying someone over the internet is very wrong.

A bully is a person who is taking their anger and frustrations out on another person. By realizing that you are hurting someone’s feelings by participating in cyber bullying, you can take the first steps necessary to eradicate this issue. These steps can include talking to the person your taunting as a person who deserves to live a happy life that is free from any form of taunting. These are real people you are hurting, and they don't like to be hurt.

Parents and teachers can help destroy the curse of cyber bullying by noticing a negative difference in a child's attitude, a recent display of low self-esteem, and removing themselves from social situations they used to enjoy.

In conclusion, cyber bullying is a growing issue that should be stopped. It is a terrible thing that devastates young people. Cyber bullying can take various forms like insulting jokes, threats, and photo-shopped images. Cyber bullying is something that should be stopped and, by doing the right thing, you can take the necessary steps to stop it.
