Hi, I´m Melissa. I have spent many years working with teens from all over the country and am a Masters Level Clinical Social Worker. My experience includes developing and running award winning after school and peer mentoring program for teens on the East Coast, maintaining a teen website for the town of Bedford, MA (that helped the town become one of the country’s “100 Best Communities for Young People in 2007), and developing Youth Advisory Boards and support groups for teens on the West Coast.

Of course, I also have many other aspirations to explore and am working on projects like finishing a novel for eventual publication, working on my small family owned bakery that you can check out online at www.alittlehelponline.com, developing a small, eco friendly and self-sustaining farm, and eventually teaching psychology at a local community college.

What draws me to working with teens is that, having recently been a teenager myself, I “get” how they are thinking and feeling (usually). I know what is it like to be a teenager in love, in a family, and in school and the excitements, passions, and disappointment that goes with that. I understand how it feels to be on the verge of being an adult and yet still a kid. Working with teenagers is very satisfying to me and where I work, I usually become the “go to” person for adolescent clients and programs.
