This activity has your children creating postcards-
Materials needed:
• Hawaii travel brochures
• Scissors
• Index cards 4”x 6” are the best size for this activity, but you can also use 3x5 or 5x8. These can be white and plain on both sides, or lined. If you have some colored index cards on hand these can also be used.
• Glue
Work on the project:
• While working on this project be sure to talk about Hawaii, and how it did not become a state until 1959.
• Using the travel brochures for pictures let the children cut of pictures to glue on their postcard (index cards). This can be a scene, people, food or whatever they want that they feel represents Hawaii.
• On the back of the card draw a line down the middle and write a postcard message on the left side of the line.

• Decorate a shoe box as a mailbox and mail the postcards to dad. Open them up at supper time and read the postcard.
