From a young age, I was drawn to children and the fun and excitement that interacting with them can bring to life. I was drawn to professional positions that allowed me to enjoy the interaction, and showcase my creative side as well. Over the last 15 years I have taught and managed in the preschool setting, taught Religious Education, assisted parents in determining if their youngest were in need of early intervention services, and currently work to educate others on clean water topics.

I have come to see time and time again how introducing a craft project into a lesson can both assist to solidify learning and increase overall enjoyment in the lesson. It is my hope that my articles provide you with ideas for your classrooms and homes and that they get your own creative juices flowing.

As a mother of 2, born in 2007 and 2013, I have the opportunity to see life lessons learned firsthand and we often include arts and crafts as part of our learning. I’m also sure to include dad, a U.S. Army soldier, in all the fun! In fact, during long absences such as deployments, arts and crafts are very helpful in lifting moods and passing the time.
