Apple Dapple Cake Recipe

Growing up in the south, I have fond memories of helping my grandfather pick apples off of his apple tree. Granted, he did most of the climbing and picking, and I was responsible for making sure the apples got into the basket, one by one.

While we loved eating apples for snacks, nothing could beat an Apple Dapple Cake!

This recipe is a fun, delicious one to make for family and friends. Depending on your preferences, you can slightly change the recipe by using different types of apples. I enjoy trying different types of apples in the recipe each time I make it.

Choose whatever type of apples you enjoy most, and then get to baking! If you enjoy this Apple Dapple Cake recipe, then don’t be afraid to branch out and try some different apple varieties the next time around.

Topping Ingredients:

Directions:
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Mix sugar, eggs and oil in a large bowl.

  3. Add flour, baking soda, salt, apples, and nuts.

  4. Bake in a 10 X 18 pan for 45 minutes.

  5. Cool slightly.

While the cake bakes, bring the topping ingredients (sugar, butter and evaporated milk) to a boil for three minutes.

After the cake has baked, let it cool for five to ten minutes. Pour the topping over the cake, and then cut into individual serving slices.
