CSI Season Eleven Hits, Misses, and Future

I will admit I have been an on again, off again CSI (original) groupie. I used to watch the show for Grissom and Stokes. Sara Sidle always annoyed me. I could live without Warrick, but Catherine was kinda cool. The reason I was on again, off again was a lack of DVR, and unfortunately it was never at the top of the list.

Now that I have a DVR things have changed, and I just got caught up on over half of this season within a weekend. My favorite character is Nick Stokes. As a fiction writer I will one of these days base one of my own characters after him. The rest of the team has grown on me. Still not a fan of Sara, and I wasn't sure about Lawrence Fishburne joining the cast.

One the things that has always brought me back to CSI is the writing. I am always impressed with the creativity, character analysis, and the fun of it. I am especially enthusiastic when they introduce an on-going case like the Nate Haskill drama.

Nate Haskill, aka the Dick and Jane killer, is one messed up psycho, and he loves to mess with Langston. We have watched the two go back and forth all season, and everything came to head in the last episodes of the season. It was bloody, violent, angst driven drama, and I loved it. Another season highlight was Justin Bieber's guest appearance. It was a drama in two parts. I was impressed by the Bieber in the first episode, but when he returned in the follow up well it was okay, nothing to rave about, but palatable.

The story arch that I was anxiously awaiting is Sqweegel, you remember don't you? The really creepy murderer, dressed all in black latex, who would sleep under its victims beds and live in their attics? Well, unfortunately Sqweegel took a backseat to Haskill vs. Langston. Phooey!

All in all it has been a great and rewarding season. We even had a guest appearance from Grissom himself in the Two Mrs. Grissoms. Lady Heather also made a return in Unleashed, and CSI did their part in addressing the 'bully effect' when Nick arrests three cheerleaders in the harassment and subsequent death of a pregnant teen.

My favorite episode of the season is, yes you guessed it, Sqweegel. If you have not seen it please do watch it! If you want to know some more about it, check out the link below to my beginning of the season article.

Can't wait to see what the creators of one of the most popular and original shows is going to roll out for us next year, but I anticipate it will keep us all on the edge of our seats!
