While passing through Phoenix, Arizona a few years ago, my husband and I searched for an RV park to stay for the night. However, after spending over an hour on the phone calling many of the RV parks in the area, I gave up. Our motorhome was either too old, or my husband and I were too young. In most cases, it was the latter. The parks catered to seniors only, so we had to keep on heading down the highway.
If I were passing through Phoenix now, with the 2011 Woodall’s Western Campground Directory by my side, I wouldn’t have had to make many of those calls. This brilliant guide notes age restrictions, if any, as part of an RV park listing.
Right on the cover of the Woodall’s Western Campground Directory is the slogan "Everywhere RVers go." And as far as the western half of this continent is concerned, nothing could be truer. Woodall’s Western Campground Directory has everything an RVer could possibly need to know when choosing a place to park their rig. This comprehensive directory features campgrounds on the entire western half of the United States, including Hawaii, along with western Canada and Mexico.
A slick, glossy section full of ads and interesting tidbits for RVers begins the directory. I actually delight in checking out the ads because I get a chance to discover a plethora of RV parks and relevant attractions that I’d never even heard of. This section also includes a fabulous feature called "One Tank Trips" that spotlights 70 shorter RV trips all over the U.S. There’s something for everybody in this section of the directory, and after perusing the pages, I found myself easily daydreaming of the many one-tank trips in my future!
But the real excitement begins once you get into the campground directory itself. This well-organized directory covers everything you’d want to know about a campground. Each campground listing is chock-full of all the details you need to make an educated decision on whether you want to camp there. Personally, I like to know whether the park has Wi-Fi and uses eco-friendly practices.
Woodall’s has a unique dual rating system for each of the privately-owned parks and campgrounds. One rating is for the facilities located within the park, and the other rating is for recreational opportunities available. Plus, each of the privately owned RV parks and campgrounds is personally inspected by a member of Woodall’s team. This ensures quality control within the pages of this directory.
But it doesn’t stop there; this directory also features RV dealers and service centers, great maps, GPS coordinates, nearby shopping and tourist activities, and much more. It’s definitely a handy guide to have on any RV trip.
