Use the words above to create an ABC order game. Put each word on a strip of paper and challenge your preschooler to put them in order.

Discuss each word with your child, and have them create a word journal. You can write one word on each page of their journal or notebook (or they can), and then have your child illustrate the word. For example, shower might be a picture of a Spring rain shower.

Create a memory game with these words by cutting ten pieces of construction, or other sturdy paper into four squares each. Write one word on each square, only on one side. Do each word two times. Try not to match the color for the word pairs to challenge your child to remember the word, not the matching color. Next, turn them all upside down in rows on a table or flat surface. Now you are ready to play a fun game of memory with your child! See which ones you and your child or students can recall to make matches. You can also laminate these word squares to create a sturdier game.

Write a story together using these words. You can type a story, write it, or have your child do either if they are able. If your child orally dictates the story you can encourage them to do the illustrations for the story. Consider turning the story into a book, and make copies to share with family and friends.

Play charades using the words! Write each word on a smaller piece of paper and fold each piece in half. Place the words in a bowl and have your preschooler(s) choose a word to act out, without words. See who in your family, playgroup or classroom can guess the word.

Get interactive with the words by actually doing one of them. For example, plant seeds in a garden, enjoy a picnic, or go on a bug hunt. Take a photo of your child doing the word activity and make an interactive journal. Have fun!
