Blog Journaling

As we enter the new and exciting world of journaling we all are faced with the question to blog or not to blog? I want to share with you some pro's and con's about blogging and etiquette should you decide to blog.

First of all do you blog? or don't you?

I was very intimidated by the blogging world for quite sometime, but now I have one on Yahoo, Bebo, and two on the Homeschoolblogger!

It is a quick, easy, fun way to share your online journaling with others all over the world. All you need is a computer and internet connection and a blog!

There are a wide variety of blog templates available and than you can custom create your own. There are even blog template creators that will create one unique to you, for a price of course.

So the first decision you have to make is whether you would like to enter this new high tech world of blogging or online journaling?

Than you have to decide who can read your blog or journal. Most of the blog programs that I use allow you to select public (everyone and anyone can read) or private (you select the reading audience). As you are pondering this question you might ask yourself how candid you are going to be in your journaling. If you are going to mention names, places and things that could be used to determine your location you might want to keep your journal or blog private. But if you are going to use generic terms you can go public. I have one that is public and one that is private which has worked best for me.

I have a large family and we are all spread out in the United States so this allows my family members to visit my blog and read about the happenings in our life and see how my girls are growing.

Most of the blog or journal programs that I have come across on the internet are free. But, is anything really free? So what you have to look for on the blog programs is the kind of ads that will be running on the site for your viewing audience to look at.

If you spend the time doing your pre-blogging/journaling homework your blog will turn out to be another avenue for your creative journaling juices to flow. If you jump into it without spending the time or effort, you be disappointed and your blog will flop.

Please feel free to share your blogs with me, I love to read other's journals.
