Spending time with your kids celebrating Halloween can create life long memories. However, after purchasing your child’s costume, the pumpkins, and the Halloween candy, it can get a little scary for your wallet.

Thankfully, there's nothing scary about this Halloween Pumpkin Head recipe--it's is budget, time, and kid friendly.

IngredientsDirections
  1. Place vanilla wafers in a sealed plastic bag.
  2. Crumble the vanilla wafers by lightly pounding on the bag, or by gently using a rolling pen back and forth over the bag.
  3. Mix the vanilla wafer crumbs, coconut and powdered sugar in large bowl.
  4. Add the undiluted frozen orange juice and mix well. Use your hands as needed.
  5. Make different size pumpkins heads, from all to extra large, by rolling the mixture into your hands (similar to making different size cookies).
  6. Add a drop or two of food coloring to individual bowls of coconut. This is optional, but is a great way to add some color to the pumpkin heads.
  7. Roll the orange balls in powdered sugar or into the bowls of colored coconut flakes.
Here’s where the creativity comes into play—let your kids find household edible items to use for the pumpkin’s eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and even hair! Or, why not try to make a Halloween ghost?

Here are a few suggestions for pumpkin head decorations to get you and your kids started:Make sure to keep your festive creations chilled in the refrigerator until ready to eat.
