Sewing Instructions:

Step 1: Using a pencil (or your favorite marking method) and a ruler, draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of all Fabric 4 (Tan) 3-7/8" squares.

Step 2: Place a marked Fabric 4 (Tan) 3-7/8" square on a Fabric 1 (Dark Green) 3-7/8" square, right sides together.  Sew a 1/4" seam on BOTH sides of the marked line.  Cut apart on the marked line and press seam allowance toward the darker fabric.  Trim points.  Repeat five more times for a total of 12, Fabric 1/Fabric 4 half-square triangles.

Step 3: With right sides together, sew a Fabric 3 (Red) triangle to one short side of a Fabric 2 (Light Green) triangle.  Press seam allowance toward the Fabric 2 (Light Green) triangle.  Sew a Fabric 3 (Red) triangle to the remaining short side of the Fabric 2 (Light Green) triangle.  Press seam allowance toward the Fabric 2 (Light Green) triangle.  Repeat 11 more times for a total of 12 flying geese units.

Step 4: With right sides together, sew the Fabric 1 (Dark Green) 3-1/2" squares and the Fabric 4 (Tan) 3-1/2" squares together to make 3 four-patch units.

Step 5:  Arrange the block sections as shown below and sew into rows (Diagram 1).  Sew the rows (Diagram 2) together to finish the block (Diagram 3) .  Repeat 2 more times for a total of 3  Christmas Star blocks.  The blocks should measure 12-1/2" at this point.
