Down Syndrome Research - What's New?

Families, therapists, educators and medical professionals may not be aware of the latest research being done on Down syndrome, and also may benefit from a review of past research and best practices for children with Down syndrome.

The bimonthly e-newsletter of the National Down Syndrome Society announced that the entire Spring 2008 issue of the Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Research Review reported research on Down syndrome, explained the importance of Universal Design for Learning for students with Down syndrome, and featured other information of interest to families and advocates. We still have a long way to go to bring attention to the benefits and necessity of research supporting individuals living with Down syndrome.

To keep updated on issues of interest to families, educators, therapists, medical professionals and others who work on behalf of individuals with Down syndrome, sign up for email alerts or newsletters where available from the organizations below. Browse at local bookstores, your public library, or online retailers for current information on Down Syndrome.
