With the new Harry Potter movie coming out, and the last book being released, I designed a bracelet for my daughter and a pair of earrings for myself to get in the mood.
The earrings are done in brick stitch.
As you can see, there are increases and decreases in the pattern, so I also designed a simpler and smaller pair for people who are nervous about doing the shaping.
My example was stitched in Delica beads. I'm planning to make the wizards too with the same fringe beads, then just wearing one of each!
The fringe makes the skirt on the dress or the bottom of the wizards robe.
I'm not really crazy about how the cylinder beads look as fringe, but I didn't have the matching size 14s. If you do buy beads specifically for these earrings instead of using beads you have around, I suggest getting the matching 14s for the fringe.
This is the bracelet I made for my daughter.
I gave her a choice of two patterns, and I'm giving you the same choice of patterns to make for yourself. They are seperate images.
They are done in even count flat peyote, and I used beaded toggle clasp to close it. I made the toggle and ring just a bit bigger then usual to make it easier for her to handle. These would also make nice bookmarks too. Instead of adding a clasp, either finish it as a plain strip or maybe add decorative fringe to one end.
I posted some square stitch or loom patterns with a wizard-y theme you might like as well.
For all of these bracelets, I recommend starting from the center and working out. Everyone has different sized wrists and that makes it easier to center your design while you're adding or subtracting rows to make it fit your wrist.
