Books on the Amish a hot trend

Looking for a light read that isnt too heavy or deep? Need a break from the complexity of life and stress? If youre like me, sometimes you just crave a book that ends well, encourages and uplifts, and gives a brief escape from the fast-paced stress of everyday life.

Christian inspiration is a great starting point. Many fiction books written by women authors in this genre offer hope, encouragement and a glimpse into the lives of characters you can relate well with. The majority of these books are cheery and positive, without being overly sentimental and hard to believe.

The theme of plots centering on Amish communities in Christian inspiration is a growing trend. This simple, faith-based life of Amish communities makes a natural setting for a Christian story because of the counter-cultural way of living the Amish aspire to.

Many Amish-themed novels are a part of a series and so you can get to know characters and enjoy the story as it stretches over time into several books.

You dont have to look far to find a cover of a book in the inspiration section adorned with a woman sporting traditional Amish clothing.

It could be the allure of mystery that surrounds the Amish or the unique stories that can come from that platform, but they are in demand. And though there are quite a few to choose from, they are an interesting insight into Amish life, traditions and simplicity.

Ive always been curious about what the Amish really believe, and hungry to know more about their actual beliefs. These books give you some insight because the authors seem to really know what theyre talking about. Theyve done their homework.

If youre looking for a simple story line, usually on redemption, love and romance, these books might be for you.

For some, this is relaxing and an escape, and sometimes, this kind of read is refreshing. Sort of like movies that end well and give you warm fuzzies along the way.

A few ones you might want to try:

Plain Perfect by Beth Wiseman (debut author)

When the Soul Mends by Cindy Woodsmall

Other authors writing series books on the Amish theme include:

Beverly Lewis

Lewis was a sort of pioneer into the Amish realm and has several series to her credit.

Wanda E. Brunstetter

Lauraine Snelling

Shannon Marchese

If you like their Amish books, this is a great launching point for checking out their other novels as well.
