Zodiac Signs and Fragrances

Do you pick your fragrance based on your zodiac sign? Have you ever thought about it? Here are some hints and tips if you decide to try looking at a fragranced gift item for yourself or someone else. This will also help if you decide to branch out and try something new.

Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are fire signs. When you think of fire, what are some words that come to mind? Fire, heat, warmth, hot, bold, red, orange, yellow, flame, cooking, and bright are just some of the words that may be used to describe fire sign people.

Think of perfumes and fragrances that are bold, spicy, oriental, and even floriental. Scents in the chypre family may be some to try as well. Obsession, Opium, and Shalimar are the first ones that stick out when thinking of fire signs. These are not the only choices, of course, but it should give you a start.

Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn are signs of the earth. Grounded, responsible, earthy, sensible, brown, green, foundation, strong, steady, and fixed are some descriptions that come to mind. Musky notes, florals, green and herbal scents would make good choices for these earth people.

Try any scent with a musk or floral name first, such as Jovanís Musk and Coty White Musk. Scents with amber and sandalwood in their notes should do well such as Warm Amber by Mary Kay. Sensuous by Estee Lauder is a good earthy fragrance. Believe by Brittany Spears might be a good greenish, herbal scent to try.

Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius are all air signs. Floating, pure, white, clean, clear, uplifting, wispy, and breezy would be some words that you first think of. Light, floral, and fresh should describe their main fragrance choices.

Happy by Clinique was the first light scent that came to mind. Hilfiger and Tommy Girl are others with a clean light air to them. Haiku by AVON is another fantastic scent with a light feel. Look by Vera Wang is crystal clear.

Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces round up the signs in the water category. Think blue, blue-green, turquoise, white caps, swimming, rain, even, choppy, sailing, relaxing, calm, and cool are some phrases and words that could come to mind.

Perfumes and scents that have the words water, rain, ocean, lake, and pond in them are good places to start. Floral fragrances chime in great here as well as we all know what April showers bring. Davidoff Cool Water fragrances would be worth a try. Mediterranean by Elizabeth Arden is great for these signs. The cool water color and the floral smell go well with each other.
These are by no means all the choices you have for these signs and elements.

Stop and think about what the sign or element means to you, and make your decision based on that ideal. Some ideas and possible references have been given, but it is up to the individual doing the purchasing or the wearing of the fragrance to make the ultimate decision.

Another point to remember is that there are moon signs as well as sun signs. In this article, we have gone by the sun signs for people. Sometimes individuals are more of a component of their moon sign, rather than their sun sign.
