I was excited when I saw that Kris Porter had released version 2 of the Parrot Enrichment Activity Book because I learned a lot from version 1 and I was sure that version 2 would be great as well.

I was not disappointed. Again, Kris is making this e-book available to everyone for absolutely no charge.

This book has articles written by others, who also share the belief that by helping parrot owners learn how to enrich their birds' lives, there will be more happy birds and happy bird owners.

Parrots can be enriched by adding foraging opportunities to their lives. This book contains several ways to add food foraging opportunities as well as play foraging opportunities, along with pictures showing that the birds are interested and excited as they check things out.

Enrichment for your bird could also mean getting him or her outside to enjoy different sights and sounds and Kris has provided some options to safely transport your bird.

The toys and foraging items and ideas in this book are all simple and inexpensive to put together, and directions with pictures are given to help you get going.

Some of the items used to make toys might surprise you if you haven't been making your own bird toys before. You will find ways to make non toy items into great toys that your parrot will love.

All parrots do not like all toys, so making your own toys for your birds gives you the opportunity to change parts out of a toy that your parrot doesn't like. Kris shows how a store bought toy can be added to in order to make it interesting for your bird.

Parrots come in small, medium and larges sizes and you will find ideas for all sizes of parrots in this book.

You will also find training tips to keep your bird thinking and you may be surprised to find out that sometimes bad behaviours can be shaped or changed by teaching your bird other behaviours.
