The Chariot Tarot Reflection

Keywords Associated with an Upright Chariot: Determination, Movement, Action, Resilience, Focus, Drive, Motivation

The Chariot is a card of determination, a will to succeed, forward momentum, and an unwillingness to quit or give up despite challenges. He is the card of perseverance and determination.

Sometimes in the midst of chaos or upheaval it can be difficult to stick to the straight and narrow path. The Charioteer, however is protected and guided by that inner higher calling. He is able to keep pushing forward despite fears and doubts and this is what guarantees his success. Setbacks or detours are no deterrent to the Chariot.

When this card comes up consider the lessons being presented. Are you not being steadfast enough in your goals? Are you losing sight of what your dreams are? Have upheavals or recent challenges caused you to question your plans?

This is a card of self-reliance and putting faith in your higher ideas. Carrying on even when you feel like giving up. Success typically comes to those who are willing to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and carry on.

Reversed Chariot

Key themes associated with a reversed Chariot: stubbornness, chasing the wrong dream, possible loss or disappointment, a need to be open to alternatives. Lack of resolve, seeking the path of least resistance.

At other times in life, and we've all done it if we are honest, there is the compulsion to chase an idea/goal that is not truly in our best interests. How many times have you been hung up on a person or idea that ultimately ended up disappointing you after you put so much love/effort into reaching your goal?

On the other hand, how many times have you just given up on a goal before really trying because you talked yourself out of it or said to yourself "This is too hard" or "I'll never be good enough to have that" etc.

This card reversed speaks of self-sabotage, refusal to listen to objectivity or your deep inner voice/intuition. When this card comes up reversed it says be very honest with yourself. Are you not working hard enough or pushing yourself hard enough to reach your fullest potential? Are you chasing a goal that is truly not serving your highest good? If so, find a path that is truly right for you and put your passion behind that goal.
