This picture of a beautiful little Blue Waxbill was taken by Katja Boll while she was on vacation in Kruger National Park in South Africa. You can see more of Katja's pictures at her website Wildlife Photos. Thank you for allowing me to use this picture Katja!

As with all the jigsaw puzzles, you can make this harder (or easier) by changing the size and shape of puzzle pieces. You may have to scroll over to get the whole puzzle in view.

Blue Waxbill Finches are native to, and are fairly common in Africa. I have seen them myself on occasion at the Nkorho Pan waterhole while watching Africam.

There are several different waxbill finches available as pets and they all have similar requirements for proper care. All finches need a spacious cage or aviary - large enough to use their wings and not just hop from perch to perch. Just because they are little does not mean a little cage! They require a variety of foods - not just seeds, but sprouted seeds, greens and live food (particularly during breeding times). In the wild, grass seeds (of varying ripeness) form a good portion of their diet.
