Exploring The Major Arcana

The Major Arcana consists of 22 beautifully illustrated cards that are the most powerful cards throughout the deck. Their influence takes precedence over any other cards and holds within each card a tremendous amount of symbology.

These cards represent the seasons, estimated time frames, astrological influences, individual traits and qualities of people in your life, an overview of you in your surroundings and various other symbolic representations that are too numerous to possibly include every single one.

They represent every stage and process we go through in the various phases of our lives. In essence, a path of learning of one's self and the world around them. These key cards determine the flow of the card's meaning and provide us with a means to pinpoint specific events, influences and elements currently at work within a person's life at the given time of the reading.

Of course, it is necessary to keep in mind that whatever appears in a reading does not mean that it will occur precisely as indicated by the cards; as nothing is truly set in stone par say. However, at the time of consulting the Tarot, the elements are in alignment with that probability if conditions and circumstances continue in the fashion that they are unfolding. We do control the outcome of our experiences by our thinking and actions, therefore remember that the Tarot is simply a tool to divine a means of seeing the possibilities available at the given time and are always subject to change.

Some spreads and readers only utilize the Major Arcana because of its influence and effect. As it predicts major issues in life rather than just everyday mundane aspects. They also indicate the most important positions in various spreads such as Keltic Cross, Category or Zodiac Month-by-Month type spreads. Often times, the Major Arcana cards are used to depict the Significator. Which simply means, the person who is consulting the Tarot.

The Major Arcana can be utilized also as being a great tool for meditating. There are various techniques that can be applied to the use of the Tarot cards. Explore the many uses and interpretations of each card as you journey through the Major Arcana and open your mind to seeing many patterns, cycles and information flooding into your awareness as you expand your consciousness.

Since the Major Arcana consists of 22 cards, it is impossible to explain the meaning of each card in a single short article. Therefore, I will present future articles depicting each card's interpretation and underlying symbology as we progress and explore the Major Arcana.

To Your Divinatory Success!
