Christina Kim a Free Spirit

Christina Kim a professional golfer and a free spirit even on the golf course. She does not hide her emotions and is outgoing and full of exuberance while playing golf. Christina was born in San Jose, California on March 15, 1984 and is of Korean decent. She is currently playing on the LPGA tour you can’t miss her while watching any tournament.

If you see a somewhat chubbie player with braids flying and wearing a beret you know you have spotted Kim. She also loves colorful clothes but it is her style of personality that will make you smile. It is so different from the usual LPGA players that she gives the Women’s tour a little sparkle. She is fun to watch but she can also play this game.

I enjoyed watching Christina play in the Solheim Cup she kept everyone in a buoyant spirit and was the winning member of the team this year when she won three matches. As she said it was an incredible week of her life and she showed it on the course. She says that the team spirit and joyous celebrating is part of the Solheim Cup as they are playing for the team and their country. She kept everyone on their toes.

She has recently been on a diet and she talked about this in the recent Golf Digest magazine. She said she fights her weight and in 2006 when she was on a strict diet of spinach and running 10 miles a day. This time she was on a healthier diet and it is taking longer but she is feeling better and had lots more energy. Don’t see how she can get more energy as she always seemed to have plenty of that. She did say it is helping her on the golf course as she can move better.

She has a hobby of photography and loves to do extra close up called Macro pictures. She says she is a gadget person and if you can believe this she is very sensitive. For an outgoing person that surprised me, maybe it is a cover up for her sensitive side. She also says she read lots of books on her Kindle DX that even include science fiction. That seems to fit her personality.

Christina has a great golf game and has won twice on the LPGA tour and once on the Futures tour. Along with her wins and team spirit on the Solheim Cup she has many fans. She seems to think she is over the hill when she sees so many young teenage golfers coming on the scene, She thinks these girls have many more advantages than she did with the many golf camps, instructors and opportunities available to young players.

She also feels that Michelle Wie will find her way to the winning circle as she has gone through so much already at such a young age. She is settling down to playing good golf and believes she will win soon. You can’t help loving this exuberant golfer it gives the LPGA a little excitement to see what she will be wearing and how she will react to her golf game. Keep up the good play and we will all keep watching.
