Energy Tips For A Twin Pregnancy!

Carrying a multiple pregnancy can be very taxing on your body. Your energy levels go down immensely and many times you find yourself not being able to do half of the things that you were able to do before. Energy drinks can be tempting but with the high volume of caffeine and sugar that they contain they will do you more harm than good!
Although I am a firm believer that you should listen to your body when it tells you to slow down I am also the first one to be disappointed if my To-Do list is not completed by the end of the day. If your physician has given you the green flag to do as you’d like, you might find these energy boosters helpful. If you find that your energy has not improved by eating a natural diet (high in protein) please discuss this with your physician as this may be a sign of iron-deficiency anemia.

Almonds are a wonderful source of protein and the most nutrient rich of all nuts! They’re also a great source of fiber (which can help with the annoying constipation issues!)

Grapes are without a doubt one of the most energy filled fruits around! Although concord grapes will give you more energy (they are perfect for anemia related exhaustion) than light colored grapes if you have an iron deficiency you should steer away as these grapes have been known to lower your iron levels. On the other hand, light colored grapes also give you a boost of energy and help increase the iron in your blood. So much better than that sugar filled candy bar that will make you crash later on in the day!

Starting your day with a good bowl of oatmeal can be a great energy booster in the morning! Not only is it high in fiber but it is also a great source of Vitamin B which transforms carbs into energy that you can use. Adding raisins or blueberries increase energy levels even more!

Bananas are very popular for being high in potassium but many overlook the fact that it is also high in carbohydrates which also helps increase your energy levels!

I would not be able to write an honest article if I did not add chocolate to this list! I am not saying that you should indulge but dark chocolate is known for being an energy booster! Look for a dark chocolate that is 70% dark and you will be adding a good amount of antioxidants to your diet. Not to mention, it is also a mood enhancer and let’s face it…we sometimes could use the emotional pick me up!
