Exercise the tarot way

I know it must sounds crazy that you can use the tarot to exercise, but what I am talking about are ways to exercise your brain to remember the tarot; not just their meanings but their images and what ever in them that pops out to you.

I am going to give you one exercise for now; but keep checking for more to come.

the first exercise is to shuffle the cards or take the first one and go from that, put the rest of the deck aside for now. Sit quietly in a dim lit room such as candlelit or turn the lights down low. Grab a big comfy pillow or a folded blanket or towel and sit it on the floor. Get a notebook or your tarot journal as you will need to write down the things that come to you. Make sure nothing is going to bother you for the next fifteen minutes, you may go for longer time if you like but you really only need the fifteen minutes.

Once you are sat quietly on what ever you have chosen to sit on; close your eyes and take three deep slow breaths. Tell your body to relax, you are not quite going into a meditation or trance but you will be focusing on the card that you have picked.

Next, once you have relaxed your body, keep your eyes closed and relax your mind. Let things come and go in and out of your head until you are ready to open your eyes and focus on the card.

Open your eyes and pick up the card that you have chosen. Look at the card, look at the images in the card. Don't force yourself to 'find' things in the card but let the card speak to you so to speak. Let the card tell you what it is all about and what the meaning of it is for you. Write down everything you get from that card no matter how small or silly you think it is. Just write. Later on you can go back and mark out what ever it is you really don't feel about that card or highlight the things that really stood out to you. You may also go to the booklet that came with your deck and compare the meanings that are listed and see what you got from the card was close.

You may do this exercise several times a week; once every day; or simply once a week. It is totally up to you and that is the fun part. You control how much or how long you want and like everything else, when it is up to you - you do better. So enjoy your quiet time alone with your cards.
