I decided to find out how a particular friend of mine on flickr, creates such an awesome batik effect on paper!
So, here's what I came up with:
I won't sell them because they are too cool, and I want to hoard them. But, you can make your own! It's so EASY!It is quite simple to create this yourself.
Simply stamp your image first, with embossing ink, and then top with the clear embossing powder.
You're going to need a heat gun (embossing gun).
Don't have a heat gun? Oh my, you must get one. Now. Go to the store and buy one. I'll wait.
Now, apply heat, as you would, with your heat gun.
Now, to apply the color, get yourself a packet or two or three of RIT Dye, a few spray bottles, and isopropyl alcohol.
Just mix up the alcohol with some of the RIT Dye, into the spray bottle, until it's dissolved.
Then, when you've got two or three coordinating colors, spray them onto your stamped and embossed images.
Now, you're going to need your iron.
I simply sandwiched mine in between two sheets of scrap paper that I had laying around.
Just iron it, until the embossing powder lifts from your paper onto the scrap paper, and that is that!
You're done.
It's so easy to do! You can create this effect for making gift tags, or for use on a background or scrapbook layout, card making, or for your collage work.
