Starting an Ezine can be an exercise in patience. If you have not already established your Brand and following, it can feel as if it is going very slowly. If you have a large budget, you can shorten the growing pains slightly, but if you are just starting out it may not help too much. When beginning an Ezine, it’s best to build your subscriber base slowly with good subscribers.
Buying a List
It’s usually best to avoid having to buy a list to market to if at all possible. When you think about it, these people have actually signed up for something else. They have been targeted by a specific list and who knows how many times their information has been given. It’s similar to going calling a wrong number. If you continue to call back before you actually ask what number you called, the person who answers is going to become progressively annoyed. The individuals on the list may get so many different offers, they may mark you as spam or delete the email before they ever see it.
If they are like me, certain things you sign up for get certain emails. I’m so focused on Ezines and Newsletters that I put a different name, an initial, or a junk email account. You do not want your Ezine to end up in someone’s junk email account because the seasons will change, maybe a few times, before that email is ever seen. It may go straight to the trash.
Spotlight Your Knowledge
You are the expert in your niche. You have to flaunt that knowledge. It is the reason why people subscribe to your Ezine. If there is no value in your Ezine, your subscribers will leave.
Put the Pieces Together
The time between putting your Ezine together and having a successful subscriber base can seem like an eternity. Here is an example of what you need:
Great Content
Expert Knowledge
Stellar Marketing
Patience
It may only take two to three months to build your list but typically it can take up to six months. Don’t give up. Keep up the pace of sending out your Ezine. Do not forsake your current subscribers trying to get to a certain number. The subscribers put their faith in you to deliver a product.
Your timeline may look different than someone else’s. Do not compare yourself. The timeline is very unique and individual. Just keep the pace of moving forward.
