Cherry Brownies

Cherry Brownies

  • 8 oz. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. teaspoon salt
  • 1 - 12oz. jar cherry jam or cherry preserves

Preparation -
Preheat oven to 350 º. Grease a 9" x 13" baking pan. Melt chocolate and butter together in a saucepan. In a large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix on low speed just until blended. Stir in chocolate mixture. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt and Sour Cherry Jam. Pour batter into pan and bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until they just begin to pull away from the side of the pan. For ease of cutting, let brownies cool completely before cutting.
