I grew up in a creative family of cooks, artists, musicians and writers. The first cookbook my parents gave me, when I had learned to read, was The Joy of Cooking, and one of my first solo attempts at baking resulted in a pie I mistakenly flavored with vinegar instead of vanilla! Fortunately, both my reading and my cooking skills improved over time, and I am now quite a competent cook and baker. I am also having fun discovering the magic of creating new recipes!
My vision for this site is to share delicious, nutritious, healthy recipes you can easily create at home. I offer many vegetarian recipes, along with recipes using poultry and seafood, with suggestions for alternate meats. I do not use or advocate microwaves, believing that they destroy the nutritional value and flavor of foods, particularly baked goods.
I have over 30 years experience as a cook, baker, caterer, and personal chef, and bring my creativity to the kitchen to develop exciting new recipes. I also have over 25 years experience as a writer and editor, and am working on a cookbook. I look forward to sharing a journey of delectable foods with you!
