Metal Gear Solid 4 Online Walkthrough Rescue Mission Rescue Mission is a one-way version of capture mission. One team is on defense, the other is on offense. Every round, the roles switch. The other main effect of this mode is that in each round everyone only has one life. If you die, that's it until the next round. This prevents the match from being an endless tug-of-war. However, it also means that if you rush in without thinking and get taken out, your team is down one person for the rest of the round. As such, Rescue Mission requires a lot more careful movement and coordination. When playing Defense, Rescue Mission is the perfect time to use traps - not only next to the target you're defending, but on routes that go to the target as well. Set up traps so that your blind spot is covered; for example, if you're looking down a street, use traps to guard alleyways and paths behind you. Keep one eye on the object and the other eye behind you in case someone sneaks up on you. Try to coordinate patrols and watch points to maximize your defensive screen. When playing offense, move cautiously and coordinate your movements. You may want to split into smaller groups; for example, one group can attack head-on and the other can move in from behind while they're distracted. It's useful to have at least one person with the Trap Detection skill in a team. It may be useful sometimes to run off by yourself, but only if you're absolutely sure that, say, the enemy is engaged with the rest of your team. Whereas a group of 3 or 4 people might get noticed before they can move in, a single soldier might be able to slip past their notice and grab the object. Once you have the object, run to the goal and try to get your teammates to put themselves between you and the enemy, as well as covering you in case any enemies snuck to your base.
