Eagle Landing by Albert Rollins

Poetry

Untitled

Firefly

A nitrogen glow
streaming out carbon fingers.
The supple rustle of leather wings.
The scent of daydreams
bound to opalescent wrists.

Valleys of souls,
recondite symptoms,
of mourning the lost flowers.

Guileless Romeo
searching among the reeds.
Only to decline,
never revealing,
atonement of flesh disavowed.

Timeless wanderer,
satisfied in red.
So sleepless orbs
never rest on sunset.
Fringe on thorned barbs.
Never gracing
flowing atmosphere.
Cerebral servitude
to the final battle.
