Sun Kissed

Ken de Jong

You laid in the sun too long
its scent absorbed
into your skin,
my fingers brush away
the tiny diamonds of sand
that still cling to your thighs
and I want
to make love to you
not now but later
after the Sunday crowd
has departed
and the moon lays white
upon the water
