The Quiet Moon

Arwen Lynch

Shadows sharp against the ground,
Our hands tie a loversī knot
With moonlight streaming through.
Words left unspoken.

Full moon throws us in relief.
Back-lit by the sunīs reminder.
Bright summer. Long blue days.
Words left unspoken.

Nut drags a cloud across Her face
Dimming the path before us.
One stumbles. The other releases.
Words left unspoken.

Only one shadow in this full moon.
Hand empty of heart, of soul,
Just moonlit tears streaming.
Words left unspoken.
