The Love Bomb

Lisa Kerr

I alone lit the fuse.
The explosion sent hundreds
of pastel tissue stars, hearts,
and crescent moons
shooting into the sky
arcing softly,
and fluttering to cover
the ground like candied leaves.
You said nothing.

A cream colored star
stuck to the plaid fabric
of your shirt.
You did not brush it off,
but still,
You said nothing.
