Animal Crossing Walkthrough
About your House
You start out with a relatively small house, maybe a 'six mat floor' house if you want to think of it in those terms. Not much room for more than a bed and wardrobe and a few items. You have to pay 19,800 bells for this too!! But not to worry, a bigger house is in your future.
Pay for the first one, andyou get a bigger floor on your house - now an '8 mat floor'. This one costs 49,800.
Your next upgrade is a basement! Now you're at 49800. Note that you don't have to make your basement pretty. Only the main floor and second story count when you decorate.
Next comes a yet bigger first floor: 398000 bells.
Finally, the ultimate upgrade - a second story! This is for 798000 bells.
The Happy Room Academy is watching your decorating efforts. Again, only the first (and second if you have one) floors count for ranking. You get lots of points for rare items. Points are good for having your town be attractive to visitors.
If you have a table, chair, bed, and storage of different sets you get good points. If all 4 items are from the same series (say all "western"), you get lots of points. If you then add in matching wallpaper and carpet you get even more points.
Other bonusses to watch for are special items from Jingle (on Christmas) or Jack (on Halloween). Also, if you show the museum a complete fossil and then take it home, that's worth uber points.
Most sets are obvious - say the western series with western carpet and wallpaper. Another example is the Exotic set with exotic wallpaper and rug.
Your house is savvy to the Secrets of Feng Shui. If you put the right colored things in the right sides of the house, it brings you good luck!
north - top - orange
south - bottom - green
east - right - red
west - left - yellow
As a final note, watch for cool NES games you can play IN THE GAME!! Games like Donkey Kong and Tennis add even more fun to Animal Crossing!
