Go past the desk and left, and talk to everyone there including the little halfling, Nob. Now go back to the desk and the inkeeper is back. Get the key. Nob takes the ponies to the stable - what ponies?
Go back into the pub. The others chat to you again. One offers to help you out. Say no, and you're captured!
