This is the first spot where you can choose a character. Remember, when you get to the end of a Gates of Moria level with a character, you can either replay or save. Once you go on, you can't replay that level with that character. You can only go back and bring one of the other characters through. So keep replaying until you're satisfied with your score. Otherwise you won't get enough points to get the attacks you'll need for later in the game.

This is a simple level. As Aragorn you have Gimli by your side. Just follow along the path. There are two monster generating caves to your left. The second one has a chest in it. Go around the corner. "This Way" says Gimli the helpful. Then you get to a guy on a ledge. You CANNOT JUMP OR CLIMB. So you have to shoot him with arrows. Hold down L1 and then use X to fire the arrow. Hold down the X for a stronger shot. You don't get lots of points for arrow-shots so slash at guys whenever you can.

Note you can only hold 30 arrows at a time so if you see arrows on the ground and can't pick them up, it's because you're already full. Same with green and red health potions.

Go across to the next area with 3 guys up on ledges. "My cousin Balin ..." rambles Gimli. Then a bunch of orcs will climb up from the ladder on the left. To the right is a chest. Go under the arch. You'll run into more guys, then another archer on a ledge to shoot. Then on through into some water. The water slows you down as you get deeper into it. There are TWO Separate chests tucked in on the left in different spots. It is REALLY REALLY ANNOYING that you can't change your view!!

You get to see one guy sucked under by a tentacle. He he he. Keep going and kill the rest. Now you reach the boss - oh go figure, it's the octopus monster.

Here's the trick. You'll see a tentacle coming. Block it's attack. It'll point up and shake. Go hack it with X. It'll chop off and the core monster will pop his head up. Ping him with an arrow. It's VERY easy when you get the rhythm down. Block - slack - ping. Block - slash - ping. Just do that five times and you've won the level. "Fell Beast," says your pal Gimli.
