Lord of the Rings The Two Towers Walkthrough
Balin's Tomb
The Mines of Moria in the other game have some REALLY AWFUL puzzles in them so I was cringing just going into the mines again. But this game doesn't know what a puzzle is. All it knows is hack-and-slash, so I was safe.
OK you start with a BIG fight by the tomb. Tons and tons of orcs and goblins come in at you. Just triangle-away at them to kill them off.
Once you get through a bunch of them, oh yes, a cave troll comes in. Use the big attack of triangle or triangle-triangle on him. Try to get around behind him if you can. You do NOT have to kill him down to zero health. You just have to hit him a few times to move on to the next stage.
Soon he'll change over to a chain, and you'll be up on the upper ledge area. Note that many people have written me saying they get stuck here so I'll try to explain this clearly.
The trick here is that the pillars you see *block the chain*. You cannot be hurt if you're behind a pillar. So run and hide behind one. Poke out just after the chain hits, i.e. when he's winding up and preparing for another attack. You have time in here so concentrate. Use your bow with L1 to aim at him. You're just going for one hit before you hide again so don't get frantic, just concentrate on that aiming. Then fire the arrow, and duck back in again. You should get 2 or 3 shots at him (one per chain blow) dodging behind a pillar before he smashes that pillar to bits.
When he does, run to the next pillar, and do your one-shot-per-chain-swipe again. You will probably go through 3 or 4 pillars before you take him down. But eventually you kill him off with arrows and this level is over.
You should be up to level 3 by now, and I got 11949 - good.
