Winter Moon

Marchell Dyon

The crone is back
Her white hair has blanketed the world
Her breath has cause the air to freeze

With vengeance she wages war on the sun
She keeps the warmth of the morning star at bay
Her winds rattled our home as if it is made of straw

How alabaster and full she seems tonight
A perfect pearl paused over the world
She mounts an ebony sky

Without a cloud in sight
She takes over the heavens
With the sheen of her glow

Like the first Christmas star
Long ago over the Holy City
She fools shepherds

That she is a sign from God
They wait for instructions this time around
They and the world are ready

To embrace any form of Christ given from above
She looks down as they bow their heads to her
she laughs then moves on
