Lucy's Rose Doily by Mrs Consistre
Mrs. Louise "Lucy" Consistre, who tatted the famous "Last Supper" tapestry also tatted this rose doily in the same technique of blocks of four ring. It is not known if this is her original pattern.

Marie Rice Researches 1930's Butterfly
A few years ago Marie Rice researched a 1930's tatted butterfly which she purchased at LACIS in Berkeley CA. LACIS is a lace maker's and needleworkers paradise. Marie has collected tatting books and patterns for over 50 years, but had never seen this tailed butterfly pattern before.

Instructions for interlocking tatted rings appeared in the Young Ladies Journal,1869. This method was revived and reprinted in Tatting Knots and Notes, Nov. 1992 by the late Doretha Albee.
