To start out, none of the appetizers could work at all. So we moved on to the main dishes and again, pretty much none of them worked. There was a lot of pasta, all the fish was breaded, and while they had many potato options as sides, their veggies was a "carrot/corn blend". Yummm.
We settled on getting a prime rib and a steak tips meal pair. When we asked if there was anything besides corn, she offered that they could substitute in broccoli. We like broccoli, so this was fine.
We did get a dry salad, and it had lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and onions. So it was at least better than several other restaurants we've visited, where "salad" means a pile of limp lettuce.
Out came the meal. The steak was good, tho the tips were on the salty side. The broccoli was simply dry broccoli though, and not exactly very tasty. I suppose we were grateful we got broccoli at all, instead of having to eat the steak with nothing else.
Given how well we've eaten at other restaurants recently, I'll have to say that Pub 99 is now low on my list.
UPDATE: We went to a different The 99 recently and had to wait for a table. We looked through the menu while we waited and were struck again by how poor the menu selection was. We ended up cancelling our table, went to another nearby restaurant and were MUCH happier!
