Home Made Lip Balms

Natural home made lip balms are a safe organic alternative to using those chemically altered lip balms many women purchase in local department stores and beauty shops. Making your own lip balm is all about having fun, and experimenting with natural ingredients. Get creative and whip up your own unique lip balm recipes. Here are a few lip balm recipes to get you started. Enjoy yourself or create lip balms to give to friends and family. The ingredients are easily found around the home or purchased at most supermarkets and health food stores.

Sweet Vanilla Lip Balm


1 Tablespoon of Vaseline
1 Tablespoon of Aloe Vera Gel
1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil
1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Mix the ingredients together and place in the microwave to heat. Once melted take out of microwave and pour into a container with a lid. Let cool before using.

Moisturizing Cherry Lip Balm


2 Teaspoons Olive Oil
1/2 Teaspoon Grated Beeswax
1/2 Teaspoon Shea Butter
1/2 Teaspoon Honey
1 Teaspoon Cherry Oil Extract
1 Vitamin E Capsule

The quickest way to prepare this lip balm is to use the microwave. First, take the ingredients place in a microwavable bowl and mix them together thoroughly. Place the bowl in the microwave and let the mixture melt completely. Take the bowl out of the microwave and add the Cherry oil extract. Stir, and let the mixture cool for about 5 minutes. Then pour the mixture into a decorative container and cap.

Aloe Vera Lip Balm


1 Teaspoon Aloe Vera Gel
1/2 Teaspoon Coconut Oil
1 Teaspoon Vaseline

Take the ingredients and place them in a microwavable bowl. Set the bowl in the microwave. Let the mixture stay in the microwave until it melts. Then take the mixture out of the microwave and pour into a container. Let cool before using.

Lipstick Lip Balm


Old Lipstick

Don't discard that old lipstick just yet! Take the old lipstick and mix thoroughly with Vaseline. Scoop into a nice decorative container. And apply and enjoy.

Healing Lip Balm


3 Ounces Almond Oil
2 Tsp Natural Honey
1/2 Ounce Beeswax
1 Teaspoon Tea Tree Oil

Take the ingredients and mix together. Place in microwavable bowl. Microwave until mixture melts. Remove from the microwave and stir. Pour into a tin to cool.
